SPIROL Scholarships are awarded up to $20,000 over 4 years!!!
Spirol International Corporation is dedicated to continuing our support of our local youth and assisting them in realizing their educational aspirations through our continued offering of scholarships. We consider these scholarships a valuable investment in the future growth of our community, state, and country.
CALIFORNIA: Applicants must be a graduate or a graduating senior from Centennial High School, Santiago High School, Norco High School, Corona High School, or a student presently enrolled in college, and whose primary residence is in one of the neighboring towns of Corona.
CONNECTICUT: Applicants must be a graduate or a graduating senior from Killingly High School, Putnam High School, Plainfield High School, Pomfret School, Woodstock Academy, Tourtellotte High School, or Marianapolis Preparatory School or Harvard H. Ellis Regional Vocational School or attending a local (ten-town) private high school or a student presently enrolled in college and whose primary residence is in one of the ten towns in northeastern Connecticut.
OHIO: Applicants must be a graduate or a graduating senior from Woodridge High School, Stow-Munroe Falls High School, Barberton High School, Cuyahoga Falls High School, or a student presently enrolled in college, and whose primary residence is in one of the neighboring towns of Stow, Ohio.
VERMONT: Applicants must be graduate or a graduating from Windsor High School, Stevens High School, Springfield High School, Woodstock Union High School, Hartford High School, Bellows Falls Union High School, Hanover High School, a student presently enrolled in college or a local private high school, and whose primary residence is in one of the neighboring towns of Windsor, VT.
To be eligible, students must:
• Have applied to or are presently enrolled as a full-time student at a two-year or four-year accredited college.
• Have a GPA of 2.5 or greater.
• Be pursuing a degree in Business, Engineering, Accounting, Computer Science, Human Resources, Sales/Marketing, or a business/manufacturing/technical field.
Application packages must have the following to be considered:
• Application Form – Fully completed.
• Personal Essay – What would a Spirol Scholarship mean to you? This typewritten current-year personal essay must include your educational, career, and personal goals.
• Personal Summary – A summary sheet stating personal interests, current extracurricular activities, recent work experience, and recent special honors or awards received.
• Letters of Recommendation – Two current-year letters of recommendation addressed specifically to the "Spirol Scholarship Committee." The letters must be on the individual's business or personal letterhead with full contact information. Note: Please do not send the letters separate from your scholarship application.
• Community Service/Involvement – A current-year narrative describing the community service/involvement or activities in which you have actively participated in throughout the years. Also, a letter supporting the community service event in which you participated. The letter must be on the individual's business or personal letterhead with full contact information. Note: This letter is in addition to the letters of recommendation required.
Complete application package must be mailed to the attention of Flora Houle at Spirol International Corporation in Danielson, CT, and received by us no later than Monday, April 21, 2008.
