  • Part marking

Our standardized, time-tested, modular designs are robust, reliable and easily adjustable — allowing simple customization to meet the specific needs of your application.

More than 80% of the components in the Insert Installation Machines we design are pre-tested and production-proven standard items.  This translates into faster delivery, greater reliability, and lowest cost for Insert Installation Equipment of comparable quality.

We specialize in custom application-specific part holding devices. Fixturing – holding your components accurately and firmly during insertion – is a critical element to the performance of your assembly equipment.

Manual Insert Drivers require that the Insert be manually loaded into the plastic part or the installation machine. The operator then completes the installation by pulling the arbor press lever.

Semi-Automatic Insert Drivers require that the Insert be manually loaded into the plastic part. The pneumatic action of the machine, coupled with an adjustable timer, completes the installation of the Insert when actuated.

Automatic Insert Drivers are completely self-contained. The Insert is oriented in a vibratory feeder and fed to a shuttle mechanism that positions the Insert directly underneath the insertion quill. The shuttle is mounted on a retracting mechanism that positions the exit bushing as close to the part as possible for insertion yet out of the way for loading and unloading.

Heat Insert Drivers

Model HM Manual Heat Insert Driver

Designed to install virtually any type of Heat / Ultrasonic Style Insert. As much as 75% of an Insert’s performance is the direct result of how well it was installed.  Therefore, in order to maximize performance, all of the factors that impact installation must be carefully controlled.  SPIROL’s Model HM Manual Insert Driver has been designed to eliminate the dependency on the operator to control these factors.  The result is nearly perfect flow of the plastic for optimal retention and performance.

The Model HM Manual Insert Driver is simple to operate and easily adjustable.  The Model HM installs Inserts ranging in size from M2 - M6 metric threads and #2 - 1/4 unified threads, and the simple up-down adjustment of the machine makes it easy to accommodate various sized plastic components.

Model HP Pneumatic Heat Insert Driver

The SPIROL Model HP Pneumatic Heat Insert Driver provides an accurate and consistent method to install virtually any type of Heat/Ultrasonic Style Insert into thermoplastic assemblies. As much as 75% of an Insert’s performance is the direct result of how well it was installed.  Therefore, in order to maximize performance, all of the factors that impact installation must be carefully controlled.  SPIROL’s Model HP Pneumatic Heat Insert Driver has been designed to eliminate the dependency on the operator to control the factors of time, temperature and pressure to ensure nearly perfect flow of the plastic for optimal retention and performance.

The Model HP Insert Driver is equipped with an easily adjustable temperature setting with Hi-Low temperature lockout for optimal melt and flow of plastic. This pneumatically driven machine has a pressure regulator and flow controls to precisely control the insertion force and speed.  The Model HP  Pneumatic Heat Insert Driver installs Inserts ranging in size from M2 – M8 metric threads and #2 – 3/8 unified threads. The machine can be easily configured to accommodate a variety of applications and the heat tips are easily interchangeable to accommodate various sized Inserts.

Model HP

Model HA Automatic Heat Insert Driver

The SPIROL Model HA Automatic Heat Insert Driver provides an accurate and consistent method to install virtually any type of Heat/Ultrasonic Style Insert into thermoplastic assemblies. With this exceptionally versatile machine, the operator does not need to physically touch the Insert during the entire installation process. SPIROL’s Model HA Automatic Heat Insert Driver has been designed to eliminate the dependency on the operator to control the factors of time, temperature and pressure to ensure nearly perfect flow of the plastic for optimal retention and performance.

The Model HA Automatic Heat Insert Driver installs Threaded Inserts ranging in size from M2 – M8 metric threads and #2 – 3/8 unified threads.  The machine can be configured to accommodate a variety of applications and the heat tips are easily interchangeable to accommodate various sized Inserts.

Model HA

Model PH Platen-Style Multi-Tip Heat Insert Driver

The SPIROL Model PH Heat Insert Driver provides an accurate and consistent method to simultaneously install multiple Threaded Inserts or Compression Limiters at multiple elevations. Simultaneous installation dramatically increases productivity and simplifies the number of manufacturing steps to complete an assembly.  Additionally, the platen head and fixture can be easily changed to accommodate quick change-over to different assemblies associated with new production runs.

This machine can be used to install 12 Inserts into 1 assembly, or a fewer number of Inserts into a larger number of assemblies – as long as the total combination does not exceed 12 Inserts.

Model PH

Press-In Insert Drivers

Some of SPIROL's standard Pin Installation Models can be equipped with a pusher punch (in place of a pin insertion quill) to press Threaded Inserts into plastic assemblies. The most appropriate Installation Machine depends on the actual insertion force required to press the Insert into the plastic hole and the desired productivity. Generally speaking, the Model PMH Heavy Duty Installation Machine is typically used for low to medium volume installation, and for medium to high volume installation, SPIROL's Model PH/PHX Platen-Style Installation Machines can be used for simultaneous installation of several Press-In Inserts at the same or different elevations. Due to the length to diameter ratio of Press -In Inserts, it is not possible to cost-effectively tube feed this type of Threaded Insert with SPIROL's automatic feeding and Installation machines.

Application Engineering Assistance: Please consult SPIROL's Application Engineering team to determine the most appropriate installation machine to install Press-In Inserts into your plastic assemblies.
